Niamh Cookson is a freelance scientific illustrator based in the UK with a BA Hons and MA in Illustration, as well as being a qualified Art and design educator.
Her work focuses on the natural world, and she has a keen interest in illustrating endangered species, (specifically entomology and ichthyology). Niamh predominantly works in coloured pencil, although has a love of experimenting with other media.
Her 'almost realism' style is vibrant, eye catching with an attention to detail.
She is keen to work with marine biologists, museums and aquariums.
She has exhibited work at We Shine (Portsmouth) and New Designers (London), as well as working with the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard .
